The Latest…

In the last few weeks, I did a few fun acting things. First, I acted in a mock trial for a law student friend of mine. I was the witness for the defense. The process was similar to what a real trial would be like; we rehearsed what the defense's questions and my answers would be, and what they guessed the prosecution's questions would be. The defense's questions went pretty much as planned, and then I was cross-examined by the prosecuting attorney, and even though he was tough, I did pretty good for the defense's case. It was improvising within the parameters of my character's knowledge and the case at hand and it was a lot of fun! A short time after that, I participated in a reading of the first ten minutes of a screenplay by Jane Miller. It was part of Primary Stages ESPA 2012 Playwriting Festival. Jane was in the Screenwriting class taught by Stefanie Zadravec. The evening included screenplays from a whole class of talented writers, including Anna Van Valin, who I met when we were both in Created Equal at The Red Fern Theatre Company earlier this year. Anna is a fabulous actor and writer who this year wrote, produced and starred in the award winning short film, "Take It Off". She's an inspiration and you can check her out at www.annavanvalin.com.
Also not too long ago, I had a wonderful photography session with Sameerah Luqmaan-Harris and I'm in the process of choosing my new headshot(s) from the 300+ pictures she took! Hopefully I'll get those up on this site early in the new year. Sameerah is a fantastic photographer. You can find out more about her photography (and see few pictures of me!) at http://www.littleface-photography.com.
Right now, I am taking a much-needed break from NYC madness, staying with my family in Southern California for the holidays. Happy Solstice/End of the World/Christmas/Whatever!
