The House of Von Macrame Part 2: Prelude Festival

Yesterday I had the privilege of performing in a staged reading of the first 15 minutes of The House of Von Macrame as part of the Prelude Festival, once again playing Anitchka, the Russian model and first murder victim of the macabre evening. Macrame, of course, has a book written by my Cornish classmate Joshua Conkel ("The most original queer playwright of his generation” according to Doric Wilson, founder of Caffe Cino) and music and lyrics by Matt Marks, who, as it turns out, is a fellow LACHSA grad. (We were there at the same time! We probably passed each other in the hallways but didn't know each other until the Von Macrame reading this August.) The workshop was once again directed by the Claque's Nick Leavens, who will be directing the full fledged production at the Bushwick Starr in January, as well.
